"If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head.

If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart."

(Mandela)
Benny Lewis is an Ireland that admire the diversity of culture and foreign languages, and it took him the admiration of the world-traveled to more than 20 countries. Travel for 10 years-which requires direct contact with speakers of the original – it not only has taught her a dozen foreign languages. He also knows how to quickly learn a new language while learning to connect with each other. He is known as a Language teacher, though he prefers to call himself a Hacker's Language. And as "Traveler of the Year" according to National Geographic (2013), it also offers an incredible inspiration on us, especially on how to be a traveler in the middle of the luxurious life. (see video below)

People like to guess what language will be learned next Benny, and it relates to the country which he visited. In her blog "Fluent in 3 Months", he asks for advice from followernya. He said it was being considered for Turkey, language learning Tagalog, even language ... Klingon. And I wonder, when will he be interested in Indonesia language?

But look at the record of his voyage in 23 countries some time ago, I feel sure that he saw "Indonesia" everywhere. Here's some evidence:

1. Sale and purchase with the likes of India it must bargain for all-out!

Just don't show an interest, if need to see the stuff you like it with Justin. Install the poker face expressions, and activate the body language that are ready go away, as if you are not interested. Because ... as long as the price is not yet written in the note, meaning it can still be dinego. That's how berjual-buy with those of Indonesia, uh ... India:-).

2. Be a "Tipper" a good

Pay bills restaurant match numbers written on a note that means ... punish the waiter because it does not satisfy the customers, so an unwritten rule seen Benny in the US and Canada. Even if you are very satisfied, show with the magnitude of the tip between the 15-20% of the Bill. Wow, it sure is damning, even calling her new habits as Benny Tipper is like "an annoying twitch". He hated the "imposition" of this sort, let alone this unjust deeds on a Dustman and truck driver who could not ask for a tip as an introduction to the pizza and taxi driver.

Fortunately in Taiwan he gain experience; he chased a waiter who asked why she was leaving money on the table, but all of the food is already paid.

Well, Benny in Japan are also the same. Taxi driver there always refuse tip firmly!

3. The people of France spent coffee hours

"It's not about Copy fill the blood with caffeine, but about the experience of sitting in a cafe while chatting with friends, or while reading a book. Thou art enough to order a cup of coffee, and breathe a little bit as if it jatahmu for a lifetime. No problem though the coffee be cold ", said Benny.

Jeez, Benny, you came from a planet where the hell? Now we are the kudu wonder, because we-English-is indeed using the term "get some coffee with my" to-kongkow kongkow.

But amazingly, Benny the Ireland is very much enjoyed her new habit. For him, lingering over a meal with friends it's a valuable lesson, that life should be enjoyed as well as possible. No need to hurry, anyway its called life experience-which is the ' gift ' that-Yes ... now this! The present!

4. (don't) Tell Honestly!

Said terus-terang was normal, even a way to respect people, so the people of Germany and the confidence of the people in some countries of Northern Europe, including Benny. Truth needs no bowling alley again, let alone "sugar coated", or styled like sandwiches with a layer of "bread" is a compliment, or wrapped up with pleasantries. That's why Benny quite confused when confronted with the people Canada, the truth of his words precisely there in reverse (Hmmm, seemed to know ya?:-)).

He was forced to learn to change the words: "it was a bad idea!" by a misleading sentence such as: "it's a pretty good idea, but ... "

He also no longer say "no!", instead replacing them with nonsense like: "I will think about it."

Anyway, to those who fear on honesty, talk like a politician. Or say with sweeteners like speaking to a Pink Barney and Happy Dinosaurs!

5. "Miscall" it communications

People do love Italy miscall, they named it Squillo.

If you will be arriving late at a meeting, you can do a miscall on your friend, so that he understands that you're on the go. (So reserving it for me gejrotnya, ya know!)

Squillo also means that the culprit (maybe a girlfriend or your wife) are thinking. So when it gets tersenyumlah miscall, it means someone is miss you. It's also possible he was saving a pulse, but nonetheless there are kangennya.

Because that's the habit of people Indonesia, uh ... Italian. :-)

6. "Making friends" with thousands of people on Facebook!

WAAA, Indonesia this once! Is that friend ... friend or real fans anyway?

The bright, social pleasantries and ala-simply applied as it is considered "contempt" by Benny kind of Ireland. Because according to him ... friends are people we know personally, not the people we know in passing. But the slow-time he also understand that in certain countries, demand add-friend that cannot be avoided, even though it comes from people who are not too familiar. Reject this kind of friendship even considered highly offensive.

Garuda Indonesia is also like that! Tangent-offensive into one, because your friend is my friend too ...:-)

7. Sale kiss and cuddle

In Latin countries, Benny sees how easy it is to kiss each other on the cheek and hug each time met, although new know the day before. In the eyes of Benny unusual with all of that, it looks like a hug hug the people many years separated, even one of them might be recently released from prison. :-)

By looking at all of this, meaning that Benny will not wonder anymore if find a cuddle scene-kiss is so cheap in Indonesia! Well, even though there is a slight difference. Here people be shaken with mutual touching the tip of his finger a bit, stick a pinch his cheeks, hugged gradually became quite alone!

(Sometimes not even accompanied by eye contact! Oh no ...:-()

 8. bring matches everywhere, you will find new friends

Almost everyone smoked in Turkey, but Benny didn't like the idea of smoking. But by bringing the match to the ubiquitous (and he is still doing it until now), he had a chance to match its offer in smokers who are looking for a match in his pocket. That way, this opens up the opportunity to make lasting connections!

Great idea Benny! Thou only Chelsea matches. While in Indonesia, many people who choose to be incendiary, MacGregor, and penghembus gossip .... er ... smoke;-). And for all its strangeness, they call themselves as a social smoker, that smokers who just smoked while socializing.

9. Jaywalk, crossing the street unlawful

In Egypt, the traffic lights is very limited, so did the line penyeberangannya. But it turns out it doesn't matter, because the people of Egypt so supremely lihay desperate crossings in doing in the middle of traffic density. Really different Germany (also the Japan and Singapore) which stood at the edge of a zebra cross until the signals of electric traffic light allowed them to cross, even though the streets are very quiet.

Well Benny, we the people do not like Indonesia even pedestrian bridge. Since breaking through the streets you said it was a "terrible" ... euh ... a test of guts that are important to us. It is also faster, and more fun! ;-)

10. Pointing with an index finger that's not polite

What then is to be done if we need to pointing something?

People of the Philippines, as well as Columbia, will use the style "Pointing like he was teasing the fish". Here's how: Put your hand on the lips (I think, add a small bite at the index action, let me look rather sexy;-) ...), then use telunjukmu to designate what it wants you to point it out. And remember, do it just like pointing a flick action fast.

But in order to better "flirting", put it back telunjukmu it to my lips for a moment. The effect was so shy so loh.

Haduh this ngomongin, what the hell? :-)

11. If there is a well in the field, the passenger may take a bath right?

It turns out that saying it's just theory in Indonesia, but it has become a daily practice in Brazil!

Is familiar to every Brazilian host to offer a bath to his guest, so don't rush offense. Not because you have body odor, but because the Brazilians who live in the country's hot-it is indeed the most diligent baths in the world.

In short, when ideas take a bath in Indonesia is still in an aphorism, in Brazil and in fact already become a tradition!

12. Good Bye the hardest one!

When are Latin people gathered together, don't forget to spend some time around 30 minutes for farewell. Because you have to greet everyone, though not too familiar with. You still have to make small talk panjang-lebar in front of the exit. In short, you cannot go away after saying, "OK, see you ya!"

In Indonesia? Wow, preparation for farewell it could reach one hour! You must ensure that the pamitmu was not cut off talks of people. Although sometimes there are good too, when in one hour there was a gift shop which can be wrapped and taken home! :-)

That's a snippet of the story Benny about various habits that he met in many countries. Many things are "really Indonesia", which are special breaks for NAP which he saw in Spain (also in Dubai, so that ever I heard). NAP turns is a tradition originating from the countries that it's chilly too hot during the day, and Benny that comes from the land of the cold it was found that the benifits turned out to be big enough to restore health.

Well, even though the people of Indonesia now-let alone the Office work-no longer avidly NAP, but sleeping breaks siangnya still be redirected to "other break-break" ...:-)

Of all the story Benny about the culture and customs that he saw in foreign countries, there are some that aren't really Indonesia, but very necessary for "indonesianism"

For example ... the people of Indonesia have a habit of annoying to always give precedence to his attention on a cell phone while he was conversing with someone. While in Brazil, people chatted while still maintaining eye contact, touching each other or the hand-if that is possible. That way, they can mutually "make certain pressure" on each hand, especially when the eye of one of them being turned in another direction.

I was so good it would be to imagine, if we agree to give some sort of punitive penalties on anyone who likes turned his attention on other things while conversing. What about push-up ten times? Or coffee treats during the week? :-)
